"My name is Mrs Nadine Anna Rawlins, born in London in 1979, of Caribbean descent. I live in London, Hackney Wick.
I have been painting all my life but due to a chronic hereditary connective tissue and pain/fatigue illness - Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome - it’s been a challenge. I was born with this condition but was only diagnosed when I was 31 years old, when I then needed to use a wheelchair. So this has been my life since then. It’s painful to paint/draw but it is still my passion. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to finish my art degree due to this disabling condition but I paint/draw when I can, through my pain and fatigue. I want to show the world my artwork and let everyone know that perseverance is the key." - Nadine Rawlins, 2023
