RISE.365 is a community organisation focused on supporting communities and young people in Hackney, mainly those from the African diaspora. The organisation was created in 2020, as a response to challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Their founder, Jocelyn Buffong, was concerned about isolation, health and wellbeing of young people in her community during lockdowns. 'RISE' stands for reach, inspire, support and empower.
RISE.365 supports young people and their communities by providing educational classes outside of school, mentoring programmes, counselling, parent support and running a non-profit discount community shop. They also helped to deliver thousands of hot meals and food shopping bags to those in need of help during the COVID-19 pandemic.
