Niama Nur
Biography
Niama was born in Somalia and grew up in its capital city, Mogadishu.
When she was a teenager, Niama and her family left Somalia. They moved to Ethiopia in 2004, and then to Hackney in 2005. At the time she didn't know how to speak English. She had her son at the age of 18, which led to her leaving college.
In June 2023, she set up a Somali womans support group in HAckney to support women going through similar experiences of isolation as her in Hackney.
