Biography
Rose Ivy Bourlet was born in Clapton, one of 8 children. By 1901 they had moved to Homerton, sharing a house at 62 Durrington Road with another family.
By 1910, her mother Mary Ann acquired and was running a confectioner/tobacconist shop at 17 Berger Road, Homerton called “The Little Wonder.” The family run the shop until 1937.
In 1930, Rose married motor driver William George Wilson at St John at Hackney.
By 1939 Rose, her mother and a sister had moved to Somerset. In the 1980s, her daughter donated personal items belonging to Rose Ivy to Hackney Museum.
