In 1982 she was nominated to be a labour MP candidate for Hackney South, losing out to Brian Sedgemore. (HPP Jul 1982)
In 1984 involved in supporting the centralisation of obstetric services at Homerton Hospital (HPP June 1984)
In 1983 she was a member of the District Health Authority, and consistently voted against the closure of St Leonards.
