Physical Description
Islamic Poster.
Three young boys and two girls are shown studying the Quran, under the inscription ‘There is no God but Allah, Muhammed (Peace be upon Him) is the messenger of Allah’. The boy dressed in green and white has ‘O Prophet! Peace be with you!’ written on the palm of his hand. The two larger inset views are of the Kaaba, Al-Masjid al-Haram, in Mecca, Arabia (right) and the Al-Masjid an-Nabawī ('The Prophet's Mosque') in Medina, Arabia, on the left. The two smaller views are, on the right, the mosque in an-Najaf, Iraq, which is widely considered by Shias to be the final burial place of Hazrat Ali; and on the left, the ‘Tomb of Hazrat Imam Hussain (May Allah bless him)’ on the left, the Shrine of Imam Hussain ibn Ali, in the city of Karbala, Iraq. The depiction of these particular sites means this is probably a Shia Islamic poster.
