Islamic Poster.
This complex poster shows many incidents connected with the martyrdom of Imam Hussain. At the bottom is the battlefield, by the ‘River Farat’, with the Imam’s injured horse ‘Zul-Jinah’ bearing a red rose representing ‘The king of martyrs, Imam Hussain (May Allah be pleased with him)’. On the right is the Shrine of Imam Hussain ibn Ali, in the city of Karbala, Iraq, and on the left is the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Above the mosque it reads: ‘Neither mosque, not the shadow of Kabah’s walls, but, the prayer of love is performed under the swords’.
The winged creature is the Burakh which took the Prophet Muhammad to heaven. It bears the works ‘Ya Muhammad (Peace be upon Him)’. The text above the Burakh reads: ‘O my beloved Muhammad! (Peace be upon Him* Come to me over the universe’.
