Physical Description

A multicoloured prayer mat with a stylised woven mosque decoration and fringing. A mat like this is often placed on the floor to keep a Muslim worshipper clean and comfortable during prayers. This mat was made in Dera Ismail Khan, North West Frontier Province, Pakistan, and purchased for the museum by a Hackney resident.
