CHANCE HAS NEVER YET SATISFIED THE HOPE
OF A SUFFERING PEOPLE. ACTION, SELF
RELIANCE, THE VISION OF SELF AND THE FUTURE
HAVE BEEN THE ONLY MEANS BY WHICH THE

1987 marks the centenary of the birth of the
Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey. The positive
And immense legacy of Garvey is with us still
Today. Todate, Garveyism is the only force
which has been able to galvanise and mobilise
The grassroots of our people as it did. The
essence of Garveyism is the foundation of all
the positive mass-movement that follows today,
from Ratsa, Nation of Islam, Black Power, all
continuing , surging, one world Pan-Africanism.
“BLACK MAN, YOU WERE ONCE GREAT: YOU SHALL BE
GREAT AGAIN. LOSE NOT COURAGE, LOSE NOT FAITH,
GO FORWARD”.
(Marcus Garvey)
