The Burraq-un-Nabi, half-horse and half-angel, carried the Prophet up to the heavens from Jerusalem. At the top of the rainbow, the purple and white text reads ‘In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful’. Above the small picture of a mosque is written ‘Medina Munawwara’. On the left, rays from ‘Allah’ shine down on ‘The holy tomb of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him)’. Alongside the tomb is written: ‘I cannot raise my hands after this prayer’. The central text by the head of Burraq-un-Nabi reads: ‘Oh Prophet! You have crossed all the limits to see God. Where Hazrat Musa (Prophet) had fainted on the hills of Toor, seeing the lights of God’.
The lake at the bottom of this picture has been drawn in a distinctively Kashmiri style.
