Poster 'The Long March'.

A workers’ strike at the British Tyre & Rubber factory in South Africa was the subject of popular support in Hackney during the 1980s.The Metal and Allied Workers’ Union was in a dispute with factory management over workers’ rights, pay and conditions. The strikers were dismissed within 72 hours.

This play in 1987 was supported locally to raise funds for the strikers.
