White crested china, multi colour print of first Hackney coat of arms.
Following the arrival of affordable travel with the railways, from the 1880s William Henry Goss (W.H.Goss) made miniature pieces of china to sell as cheap souvenirs. Called ‘Goss crested ware’ these were printed with crests and coats of arms of the particular town onto each piece.
