The 'Save the Stoke Newington Reservoirs and Filter Beds' campaign (1986-1999) was initiated by a group of local people living in the Stoke Newington and Woodberry Down neighbourhoods, in response to Thames Water's plans for sale of and development over the whole green area. The efforts of the campaign saw the successful retention of the reservoirs.
The campaign often used a duck as a symbol on campaign materials, alongside the slogan "Don't Duck the Issue".
