Physical Description
This wooden ruler is marked with inches and has been used to advertise a commercial brand of milk formula. The text on one side reads 'Mothers! Nurse your babies; if you can't, get Nestle's', and on the other, 'Fathers! If it's Nestle's; come home with the milk'. The advertising of milk formula for babies under six months was made illegal in the UK in 1995, and children's charities The National Childbirth Trust, Save The Children and Unicef have lobbied since that time to extend the ban to include other milk products.
