Stone hammer. Circular stone, flattened base. Round/oval. Signs of impact/use/wear around entire circumference. Slight indentation in centre on one side, a flattened surface on the other.
Hammerstones are stone cobbles held in the hand and used to strike flakes off stone in order to shape stone tools, such as handaxes. Wear on the edge of this hammerstone shows that its entire edge has been used for impact. The flattened base suggests this hammerstone was also used for grinding.
