This annual event was a borough-wide celebration of culture, music, art and multiculturalism.

The programme for each show was tailored to reflect local communities. 1990s’ Hackney Show had a distinct African music theme with Sierra Leonean and Guinean Abdul Tee Jay’s Rokoto and Ugandan musician Geoffrey Oryema and other support acts. They played alongside Caribbean sound systems and headliners, Jamaican reggae group The Abyssinians.
