African Culture Exhibitions
Since Hackney Museum was founded in 1986, it has held a number of exhibitions focusing on aspects of African culture. Aimed at the growing African heritage communities in the borough, these exhibitions shared knowledge and skills about the different subject matters. By 1989 there were an estimated 8,000 people of African heritage in the borough, the fourth biggest community group.
