William Rust, born in Camberwell 42 years ago, is widely known as the Editor of the "Daily Worker." His candidature is supported by the Hackney Trades Council and many other trade union bodies, shop stewards, etc. He is the only candidate who is a member of the trade union. William Rust is a recognised authority on housing, and his latest pamphlet, "Houses for the Millions," is having a wide sale in the constituency. International affairs have engaged his attention over a long period. He has visited the Soviet Union, the United States, Germany, France, etc., and during the war in Spain he was with the British Battalion of the International Brigade as war correspondent of the "Daily Worker." The election of William Rust to the House of Commons would mean that South Hackney would be represented by an able spokesman of wide knowledge and experience, and with a long record of devoted serivce to the working people.
