Election leaflet presenting the candidates for the 1925 Stoke Newington Borough Council Elections. Of the nine candidates for election, one is female. For the period between 1918-1939, only one in twelve inner-London electoral candidates were women. When compared to other cities such as Bristol or Bradford, where almost one in five were women, the level of female representation at London elections was poor.
