This is the Qur'an (also Quran and Koran in the latin alphabet), bound in bottle green leather and embossed with gold lettering. It is the holy book for Muslims, regarded as the word of God. This copy was given to Hackney Museum by the longstanding local councillor for Kings Park Ward.
