Physical Description
Mrs Levy of Stamford Hill worked as a skilled tailor for the Royal Air Force (RAF) during the Second World War. She made this miniature jacket and suit just after the war ended. It has been fully lined and trimmed with blue velvet and buttons. This style of women's suit is typical of the period, made with a modest amount of fabric. The government imposed legal restrictions towards the end of the war, limiting trouser width and the number of pockets and buttons on new clothing.
