Physical Description
These tools were used by women working from home to make artificial flowers in the late 1800s. This specialist trade was mostly based in Hoxton. The flowers were used to decorate hats. This tool consists of a wooden handle with a flat metal base and a long solid metal tip which tapers into a cylindrical point. The top of the tip has 5 grooves which curve to one side and flattened.
