Physical Description
These tools were used by women working from home to make artificial flowers in the late 1800s. This specialist trade was mostly based in Hoxton. The flowers were used to decorate hats. This tool consists of a wooden handle with six etched grooves on its circumference. It has a flat metal base with a long solid metal tip that tapers into a cylindrical point, flattened at the top and curved to one side with two wide grooves.
