Physical Description
These tools were used by women working from home to make artificial flowers in the late 1800s. This specialist trade was mostly based in Hoxton. The flowers were used to decorate hats. This tool consists of a large dark wooden handle with a flat metal base and a long solid metal tip which tapers into a cylindrical point with a solid metal ball at the top. The ball has a cracked ridge running through it, displaying a rusty interior.
