These tools were used by women working from home to make artificial flowers in the late 1800s. This specialist trade was mostly based in Hoxton. The flowers were used to decorate hats. The tool consists of a wooden handle with a flat metal base and a long solid metal tip curving to one side and with two grooves on the outer edge of tip.
