Physical Description

A member's record card for contributions paid towards medical insurance provided by the National Deposit Friendly Society. This card insures Frederich Harris, a farrier who lived in Stoke Newington, against paying costs for medical treatment. A farrier specialises in working with horses hooves, including trimming the hooves and placing horse shoes onto the feet. Working with horses could be a dangerous job, so insurance against injury was important.
