Physical Description
This is one of three letters sent to Mrs Harris, an out-patient at the German Hospital in Dalston. The letter notes the dates of appointments in German. The hospital was founded in 1845, and staffed by German nurses brought over from the Kaiserworth Institute nursing school in Germany. At this time, there was a large population of German immigrants living in East London, many living in poor conditions. The hospital was set up to help German's who spoke little English to access health care.
