These gold coloured heart-shaped earrings are reproductions of Asian jewellry. Together with the necklace tikka and rings they are representative of what a bride might wear at a traditional Indian wedding. Jewellery is a very important part of a woman's dowry in Indian weddings and is usually made of high quality gold. These pieces are copies, purchased for the museum by members of the Factory Community Centre Asian Women's Group.
