Object history
This Short-sleeved shirt belonged to Caxton Holder, who moved from Barbados in 1956. One of the challenges for those moving from the Caribbean to Britain between 1948–1973 (often known as the ‘Windrush Generation’) was adapting their clothing and style to suit the cold climate of their new home.
