Physical Description
A carved wooden leg sculpture by Terence Besmirch. “This sculpture is inspired by my faintly remembered, missing right leg. I adapted my artificial limb into a carving tool (a prosthetic with a chisel instead of a foot), and used this tool to render my lost limb. The memory of this, infected by the exaggerated plastic musculature of the hybrid 'He-Man' toys I played with during my recovery, emerges in this very fine carving”. Terence Besmirch, 2006.
