A photograph by Dennis Morris of choir boys at St. Marks Church, Hackney. The choir are formally dressed in Eton suits, the formal dress worn by pupils at Eton College in Windsor. Morris was a member of the choir.
“This is where it all began for me. This is how we looked in our Eton suits.
We were little devilish angels.
All kinds of things would be happening while the service was on. While kneeling for prayer we would slip off the shoes of the boy or girl front of us and pass them to the back; so when they walked out at the end of the service they were shoeless. We would take pea shooters and have little battles across the pew. I would sometimes sneak my camera under my robe and take photos.” - Dennis Morris
