This bağlama, or saz, is a stringed instrument which originated from Turkey. It is often used to play Turkish folk music.
Mr Ramadan set up ‘Musik Dunyasa’ on Green Lanes, the first shop in Britain to sell Turkish musical instruments. He moved to Green Lanes because the large Turkish community there created a demand for Turkish cassettes, CDs and instruments.
