Object history

This photograph is part of a three part series (see 2010.11). A third photograph not in the collections of Hackney Museum shows the same man standing in the room, holding this child and a second girl in his arms.

The two photos from this series donated to Hackney Museum were done so under the name 'Dignity in Poverty'. In 2026 the photographer Dennis Morris shared the photographs under the title 'Dignity & Pride'.
