Dennis Morris started photographing his life in Hackney at the age of 8, capturing the everyday experience of the Black British community in 1960s and 1970s London. In this photograph of a young girl wearing two pairs of fashion glasses, Morris explores Black style and cool. It was taken just after films such as 'Shaft' and 'Superfly' had brought new heroes and anti-heroes into the cultural mainstream, prompting Morris to explore the expression of Black identity.
