It is likely that Wong Ock, Hong Jong and Wing Wong came to the UK as delegates for the Salvation Army's International Congress in 1886.
Arthur Eason himself had been a missionary in China. He had joined the China Inland Mission which was set up by a man called James Hudson Taylor. Taylor spearheaded the creation of a Christian community in China. By the early 1900s there were 800 missionaries in China and 125,000 Chinese Christians.
