VICTOR HAGGITH, the 16-year-old merchant seaman who has been speaking in Oxford during Merchant Navy Week, addressed a lunch-hour canteen meeting at Morris Motors, Cowley, yesterday, and is seen shaking hands with (left) EDWARD HEELS, now working at Morris Motors, who was a merchant seaman ine the R.M.S Rangitani, which was sunk by a surface raider in the Pacific. The Germans had some 300 prisoners aboard whom they could not afford to feed, so they put them ashore on the island of Emereu, where there was a native population and where they lived for five weeks until rescued.
