Casette tape cover, for the band "Hanging's Too Good for 'Em". All three members of the band were lesbians living in Hackney, as was the sound engineer. The music was recorded by Ova Tones Studio, a successful recording studio based in Highgate Newtown Community Centre and founded by two lesbians also living in Hackney, which went on to work with acts such as Madonna and Sting. During the 1970s and 80s Ova Tones were one of the first music studios to empower women to be in control of their own musical output. In 1983, with funding from the Greater London Council, Ova Tones set up a series of voice, rhythm and sound technology workshops at schools, festivals and in the community.
