29 June - 30 June 2012
Welcome to the Olympic and Paralympic visitor safety briefing
Health and safety are key to the success of the London 2012 Games. Please follow these guidelines and make yourself aware of the Village safety rules.
Emergency contact
If you require emergency assistance, please contact the following emergency telephone number which is manned 24/7 by the Village Control Centre (VCC): [number]
Please do not call 999 direct. Calling 999 may slow down access arrangements for emergency police, fire and ambulance response units. The VCC will respond and liaise with the emergency services and facilitate fast access to the Village.
First aid
If you require first aid, please contact the same emergency number. There are numerous trained and qualified first aid personnel on site, along with first aid and eyewash kits.
Fire safety and evacuation
If the fire alarm sounds when you are inside, please leave the building immediately and got the nearest fire assembly point. Do not use the lifts. Fire assembly points are at the following locations, and indicated by this icon:
-For Heritage 2 and Seaside 2 accommodation, Main Dining and The Globe go to Victory Park (the large open green space park in the central area of the Village).
-For Villages Service Centre (VSC), go to the open plaza directly at the front of the VSC main entrance – the furthest point from the building
Walking in the Village
If in a group, keep together at all times with your guide.
-Keep to the pavements and do not cross the road unless you are in a controlled group with your guide.
-Always pay attention when crossing any road in the Village – please keep your eyes and ears open at all times.
- Always keep your belongings with you as unattended bags, boxes, etc, will be treated as suspicious and may trigger emergency procedures.
- Do not touch any machinery you come across in the Village.
If you get lost, please call your non-emergency number: [number] and we will guide you back to where you want to be!”
