"The organisation helps and visits the sick, aiding them in all circumstances. It was founded in 1979 when someone within the Stamford Hill area collapsed on a Friday afternoon outside my door. That prompted us to gather five people and initially it was the men who started the organization simply by collecting funds from door to door, providing whatever help was necessary.”
Over the course of time we branched out providing meals. That was the beginning of the organisation expanding its services to provide not only voluntary services but services commissioned by Hackney, Haringey and now in Barnet as well.
We have expanded, so many services which we have not served In the past are now available for instance emotional health services which now has a separate wing in our building." - Mrs Cohen
