Two piece hanging metal pin badge in red, blue and gold. The badge features cyrillic text, a star in a red border, and the a gold bird sat on a t-shape symbol with a blue circle centre.

Object history

This Soviet badge represents the town of Anapa. The word сокоп (sokol) means falcon which could be a reference to a the area's biodiversity or a regional symbol. Anapa is a coastal town on in the west of Russia in the Krasnodar Krai region of the country. It lies on the Black Sea.

This badge was donated by the former Branch Secretary for Hackney Unison trade union, 1994-1996.
