Jewish couple Rita and Benny of R&B Records were among the first to release Jamaican music in Britain.

They saw a business opportunity and set up their own record label, R&B Records Ltd.

While Benny looked after the shop, Rita travelled to Jamaica to meet producers and licence music for release in the UK.
