Object history
Ming Hai Takeaway is a family run Chinese takeaway business. It was established in 1989 by the Chan family. In 2022, family friend helped to create a zine which tells the history of the takeaway shop.
The Ming Hai zine is a collective effort from all of the family members behind the takeaway - they have written text or made illustrations that tell their stories of what it is like to work and live in a takeaway, whether from an immigrant or second-generation takeaway kid perspective. The zine is a love letter to the Chinese takeaway.
