Tom Hunter, Prayer Places 2006-2011
Hackney’s diverse and global communities have brought many religions and spiritual spaces to the borough. Prayer Places shows some of these spiritual spaces, which only some communities in Hackney see on a regular basis.
These spaces are a step away from the commercialisation and property development that take over neighbourhoods. They stand as spaces protected for quiet reflection and spiritual connection behind closed doors and away from the busy Hackney streets.
