Object history
This badge was made to campaign against the Poll Tax, which was a tax introduced in by Margaret Thatcher's government 1989 for Scotland, and 1990 in England / Wales. Each Taxpayer would be taxed the same fixed amount, with each amount being set by the Local Authority. This tax was extremely unpopular and let to nation-wide protests and riots.
