A Lady with a Parasol, walking along a shady path
A painting in oil on canvas of lush gardens with a simple fence on the left, some white flowers and a pathway disappearing around a bend to the right. A woman walks towards the viewer wearing a long white Victorian dress and carrying a parasol. There is dappled shade falling on the path. The work was painted by Alice Price, from the collection of Alexander Chalmers. Alice Price was a figure painter and painter of domestic scenes. She lived at 159 Winston Road, Stoke Newington, and exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists in 1881.
