The painting shows the inside of a women’s shop, with a large mirror in the background reflecting the interior of the store. The shop is filled with women shopping, and is composed of many vibrant colours and abstract shapes.

The shop is filled with women shopping, and is composed of many vibrant colours and abstract shapes. It was exhibited at a local art exhibition.

This painting is part of the Chalmers Bequest. Ledger clerk Alexander Henry Chalmers bequeathed a collection of art to the London Borough of Stoke Newington (now part of Hackney) in 1927.
