Physical Description
This Swiss carved figure shows a mountaineer carrying a barrel on his back. It is carved from ivory. This object is part of the Chalmers Bequest. Ledger clerk Alexander Henry Chalmers bequeathed a collection of art to the London Borough of Stoke Newington (now part of the London Borough of Hackney) in 1927.
