"We visited the Headquarters of the London Jewish Bakers Union on a walking tour as part of our Hackney Roots education project. We were told a fascinating story about the theft of money from the Union HQ. It features in one of the films made by young people as part of our project.

Workers' solidarity and union strength - once a key part of the Jewish experience - is something we want to celebrate whilst Jewish bread continues to be central to our identity: challah on Shabbat, rugallach and Danish for tea, and, of course, for any occasion salt beef with rye bread and filled beigels."
