8A. Members contributing to the Fund and requiring convalescence at the Furniture Trade Benevolent Association Convalescent Home at Seaford,
Sussex, and who are in need, will have their fares
and cost for the first two weeks of such convalescence paid out of the Auxiliary Fund, if they are in
benefit and otherwise entitled.
9. Grants not exceeding £5 in any calendar year
may be granted to other bodies appealing for
financial assistance, unless otherwise determined by
a Branch Meeting.
10. These rules shall only be amended by a vote
of the members of the Fund at the Annual Summoned Meeting and proposed amendments must be
in writing and in the hands of the Secretary two
weeks before the Annual Meeting.
11. No member may receive benefit of any kind
from the Fund if he is in arrears of 6 weeks’ contributions.
12. The contribution to this Fund is payable every
week except where a member is sick or unemployed.
13. Honorary members of the Union cannot be
member of this Fund.
14. Up to 50% of the contribution of this Fund
may be used for Branch administration purposes.
15. A copy of these rules shall be supplied to all
members contributing into the Fund.
NOTE:
THE CURRENT CONTRIBUTION TO THE
AUXILIARY FUND (BRANCH LEVY) IS 4d,
PER WEEK.
Member who are sick and claiming benefit
from the Ministry of Pensions and National
Insurance, may request their Local Office of
the Ministry to forward to the Branch Secretary, free of charge, copies of their medical
certificates.
These Rules are as amended on 17th April, 1958,
and are operative from 1st July, 1958.
