A hair design made by Hackney hairdresser. The hair has been woven in a twisted and coiled design, and decorated with plastic fruit and flowers.
Ghanaian artist Gifty Naa Dk came to Britain in 1979 and began hairdressing from home. By November 2000 she was so busy that she decided to open her own salon "It Will Grow Back" on Kingsland Road, specialising in traditional African hair design.
She also works as a musician and fire eater.
